Web19 Feb 2010 · For hydraulic, you are right - tighten to 0 clearance as indicated by lifting the rocker up and down at the valve, until movement stops, then go another 1/4 to 1/2 turn. 1/2 turn is recommmnded for low perf and stock rebuilds. Make sure the lock nuts still grip tight, as it should take maybe 5-10 ft lb to make them turn.
