Different regions have different payscales, but when you're tops on that list the only place to go is down. Just going 3 or 4 locals North the pay goes down 50%. Might as well stay on unemployment. Nepotism wasn't a factor - I applied cold - didn't know anybody. Did my whole apprenticeship and got my journeyman TQ.
